Behind closed doors, Christmas can feel very different

For many of the families we support across Arun, Worthing & Adur, Christmas brings financial pressure, grief, isolation and worry.

Donations to our Christmas Appeal will help provide presents, hampers of festive food and essentials for children and families currently receiving Home-Start support – and with their volunteers right by their side, your gift will be helping them feel remembered, cared for and less alone.

Together, we can help create safe and happy Christmas memories.

More than just a present

£10 could mean:

A local child will feel special on Christmas day with:

  • A toy to spark joy on Christmas morning, or
  • A storybook to treasure, or
  • A voucher for a teen in the family, or
  • A snuggly hat and scarf

Last year thanks to the support of our local community, 89 children unwrapped Christmas presents – for some the only gifts they received.

What £35 Can Do

£35 helps us wrap a family in care and support, providing Christmas essentials to a local family in need.

A hamper full of Christmas food essentials, blankets or a warm pair of pyjamas and toys for the children. And perhaps most importantly, a trained Home-Start volunteer will be there for parents — offering a listening ear, practical help, and emotional support through one of the toughest times of the year.

£35 DONATION =

  • A vulnerable child feels special on Christmas Day.

  • Parents feel less alone during a stressful season.

  • A whole family gets the chance to experience the warmth of Christmas.

Home-Start families enjoying a Christmas day out in 2024

£100 will pay for a real treat!

£100 will pay towards a ‘Home-Start’ Christmas day out for some of our local families – a rare chance to make happy memories together, share laughter, and enjoy the festive season without the usual worries of cost or stress.

With 88% of families we support experiencing loneliness and isolation, these special events are more than just a treat – they’re a lifeline of joy, connection, and belonging at a time when families need it most.

Whatever the size of your Secret Santa gift,

it will help provide essentials to local children and their families in need this Christmas,

to give them magical memories that last a lifetime.
