The impact of your gift

Volunteer emotional support...
Means parents and carers improve their mental health and self-esteem and so are better able to listen to their children, manage their behaviour and cope better with their needs.

Volunteer practical support...
Ensures families have access to basics such as food via foodbanks, furniture, clothes, toys and nappies and are better at managing their household budget and day to day running of their homes.

Volunteer role modelling good parenting...
Helps parents to become more involved in their children’s development, socialisation, early learning and school readiness at the most critical time in their early years.

Volunteers walking alongside parents...
Enables families to access appropriate support services, help with housing, benefits and educational forms, engage more fully in their local community and find peer support to feel less lonely and isolated.

Specialised support from qualified and trained staff
For families at crisis point, with complex needs or simply need advice over the phone. Staff also provide essential volunteer supervision and training. Our in-house therapeutic counsellor gives 1-2-1 support for those who have experienced domestic abuse, with 100% saying they feel better able to parent afterwards.

Safeguarding vulnerable children...
Volunteers help ensure children grow up in safe, nurturing environments with robust and regular safeguarding training. Their non-judgemental, compassionate approach provides trust for some families who might otherwise be left behind by statutory support.
