Mel takes the plunge – and raises £1,232 for two charities close to her heart!

What an incredible achievement! Mel has completed her 15,000ft skydive, stepping firmly outside her comfort zone to raise money for two charities that have supported her and her family – Home-Start Arun, Worthing & Adur and West Sussex Coastal Mind.

Mel decided to take on the challenge after receiving support from both charities during the past year, following the birth of her little boy, Sebastian. She told us:

“I decided I wanted to do a 15,000ft skydive as my way of giving something back to Home-Start Arun, Worthing and Adur and West Sussex Mind, as these charities have helped me massively over the last year since having our little boy Sebastian. I wanted to raise money too, to ensure that others can access the same life-changing support.”

And what better way to step out of her comfort zone than by jumping from a plane at 15,000 feet!

On the day, Mel admits she was feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves – but once she jumped, those nerves disappeared.

“Once I had jumped out of the plane, all of those nerves went and I felt absolutely incredible.”

And there’s even more to celebrate. Mel has raised an amazing £1,232 for Home-Start Arun, Worthing & Adur and West Sussex Coastal Mind.

We’re incredibly grateful to Mel for taking on such an extraordinary challenge and using it to give something back to families who need support. Her courage, determination and generosity will help us continue to be there for local parents and children.
